Monthly Board Meeting Minutes

August 22nd, 2023    6:00pm

Location: Franklin Ave Elem Auditorium

Board Members in attendance: Mrs. Salazar, Wendy Perez, Tony Forester, Jeremy Smith, Jennifer Wagner, Jessica Luebke, Mark Freed, Kellie Forester, Megan Shuham, Jennifer Flashman, Jessica Bodoh-Creed, Mandy Dunlap, Laura Somers

  1. Pizza and mingling (15 min)- Thank You to Tomato Pie Silverlake!!

  2. Called to Order @6:15PM

  3. Welcome - Megan (5 min) 

    1. Board member introductions, Tony spoke about Derby & Poker Committees, and FOF mission

    2. Thank Yous- (teacher breakfast, exec team, merch team, welcome week/scholastic $, valet)

  4. After school programs introduction: (5 min)

    1. Boys and Girls Club- JD 

  5. Mrs. Salazar welcome (5 min) 

  6. 10 Reasons to Volunteer- Laurie (5 min)

  7. Committee Introductions and Announcements-  Mark (20 min)

  8. Annual Fund Drive Introduction- Laura (10 min) 

  9. Community Partnerships and Passive Fundraising- Kellie- (2 min)

  10. Board Business- (10 min) 

    1. Vote- Approval of May 2023 meeting minutes- Kellie 

*Megan motioned to approve May 2023 minutes, Jessica seconded. Vote by general consent. Minutes have been adopted.

  2. FOF sponsored programming- Kellie 

  1. Community Questions and Ideas (up to 10 minutes)- Megan

    *Mark motioned to adjourn the meeting. Megan seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm. 

    ~~Time to connect with committee chairs and mingle until 7:45pm when childcare ends.

Ms. Salazar shared an updated quote for the five library computers that totaled $11,060.35. 

9/12/23: Kellie motioned by email to increase the technology expense budget from $10,000 to $11,060.35. Megan seconded. 

Motion passed.
